Welcome to Woolwich class page!
COME ON ENGLAND!
For our Rotten Romans topic we had a Roman Day in school. The children dressed up and got the chance to be Roman soldiers. They took part in lots of Roman jobs and thought about how they were different to the jobs we have now.
In Science we made our own fossils using clay. We then compared this process to how fossils are usually formed.
In History we have been exploring mosaics and looking at what we can learn about the Romans from their mosaics. In our Art lessons we created our own mosaics of a Roman soldier.
In Science we conducted an experiment to find out which rock would be best suited to build a step. We measured the hardness, durability and permeability of each rock and made sure it was a fair test.
DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY
In Design and Technology we designed and made our own vehicles using wheels and axels. We then raced them to see which one could go the furthest!
In Maths we have been looking at division. We have been diving 2 and 3 digit numbers and used the dienes to help us with regrouping.
This week in PE we have taken part in relay races. We looked at how to correctly hold and pass the baton.
STONE AGE DAY!
To finish our Stone Age topic we had a Stone Age day in school. We created our own caves and cave paintings. We also tried fruit stew and made Stonehenge out of biscuits!
DAY OF REFLECTION FOR COVID-19
Today we took part in a day of reflection for COVID-19. We had a one minute silence to think about those that had lost their lives. We then thought about who we were thankful for.
In Art we have created our own cave paintings using chalk, pencils, charcoal and pastels.
MAKING BRIDGES IN PE
In Gymnastics we have been looking at how we can make bridges with our bodies. We have then explored how we can move through the bridges.
