Reading for Pleasure at Forres Primary Academy 

At our school, we aim to foster a lifelong love of reading by creating a reading-rich environment where books are celebrated and enjoyed every day. Reading for pleasure is a vital part of a child's educational and personal development. When children choose to read for enjoyment, they not only improve their literacy skills but also expand their imagination, vocabulary, and understanding of the world around them. 

At Forres Primary Academy, we have recently refurbished our school library to ensure pupils have a place to go and enjoy choosing a book. They are ordered into catergories such as 'Traditional Tales' 'Modern Classics' or 'Non-Fiction Texts'.  To continue to build fluency pupils will take home a levelled phonics or reading book a long with a 'bedtime story' to encourage reading for pleasure.
