Year 5 & 6 rock Forres in two night extravaganza
On the evenings of Tuesday and Wednesday this week our school hall was transformed into a Shakespearian actors dream for our joint Year 5 & 6 summer production of Shakespeare Rocks. The entire year group donned crazy costumes, wonderful wigs and brilliant beards in order to entertain friends, parents and carers through a hilarious and music filled hour of sheer brilliance. All three classes pushed through sweltering heat to put on a show worthy of the Globe Theatre itself and did themselves and their entire school proud. The children sang like angels and delivered their lines with fantastic clarity, proving themselves to be true thespians in the making.
We would like to congratulate the children on their performances and have to admit that this particular production is going to be one to beat. Not only do we want to say a big well done to the children and thank their families for coming and their support, but we would also like to say a big thank you to the Year 5/6 team, without whom these astounding performances would not have been possible. Mr Rignall, Mr Donno, Mrs Sutheran and Mrs Skinner have given up lunch times and any spare moment they had for extra rehearsals and line readthroughs and I have no doubt in my mind that they had just as much fun this week as the children did. After a fantastic pair of shows, the entire year group showed that not only does Shakespeare Rock, but they do as well!
