Maths

Children will take part in times table assessments again at the end of the year. We did our first practice last week and scores were a little lower than expected. We will be having a really focus on our multiplication facts and hope you will spend a few minutes everyday practising your child's times tables. Thank you! 

In Maths this term we will be learning;

shape properties including symmetry

calculating with decimals

Measure including money

Adding and subtracting fractions

Equivalent fractions and ordering and comparing

Formal methods of multiplication and division

 

In Maths this term we will be learning:

Place Value– children will be securing their fluency with numbers above 1000.

 Estimation and magnitude– This will allow children to compare numbers 0- 10,000 and estimate their position using known facts.

 Mental addition and subtractions as well as written methods for adding and subtracting.

 Problem solving.

 Measure–Converting and estimating measures.

Perimeter.
