At Forres Primary School, we currently follow the latest version of the HfL Computing curriculum, supplied by Herts for Learning. The HfL Computing curriculum is separated into a number of different topics and subjects, all of which are aimed to help the children learn age specific skills and complete tasks and lessons related to those skills.

These lessons and topics are delivered in a specific order to help your child develop their Computing skills and their computing related thinking at the right pace as they progress through the school. The HfL Computing scheme not only covers Key Stages 1 & 2 but also includes a specific set of units aimed at EYFS children and assisting them in developing their understanding of technology and it’s use at home, at school and in the outside world. HfL also places special emphasis on e-safety within the Computing curriculum and every topic contains several lessons which link to or share a focus on e-safety, allowing us as a school to continue to highlight the importance of internet and technology based safety.

At the time of this writing, the EYFS units are currently being reviewed and updated by HfL for the 2017/2018 academic year and we will add more information here as soon as we are able.

Although, as part of our agreement with HfL, we cannot publish the content of the entire scheme, we can talk about what topics and subjects the scheme contains and break down those for each individual year group and key stage.
