Learning Logs!
here are some stunning examples of this weeks learning logs. These are perfect examples of the amount of effort expected.
We have been working extremely hard this week in preparation of our Spelling Bee on Thursday. Can I please remind all parents/carers that children should have a water bottle of their own in school. Studies show water intake can increase concentration by 25%.
As half term approaches, may I say how hard all the children have been working. Can we please keep up with the x table practise and spellings as some children are not revising!
Thank you !
We have had such a fun week celebrating Reading Week. Yesterday afternoon we took on the Guinness World record for the Book Dominoes Challenge! Children knew they would need patience and perseverance and boy did they! We did manage one superb effort by the end!
With concerns to the reading speed challenge , all children did really well but our Speedy reader was Lily Ann, closely followed by Rhys.
Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a lovely Xmas break. Waterloo have come back with great enthusiasm and the class have really enjoyed their introduction into The Vikings. We are very excited about our Viking day coming up, costumes are completely optional on that day.
In English we have begun our study of Tennyson's Lady of Shalott. Children have acted out the poem to help them empathise with the
Lady and have practised using dictionaries to study unfamiliar words.
For maths we have focused on some tricky concepts and the fox vocabulary that often gets confused e.g factor, square and prime. Children have benefitted from breaking these lessons done and seem much more confident in their knowledge of the, now.
We hope to see a few of you on Wednesday morning for some reason and look forward to a superb Spring.
Wow what a first term we have enjoyed. Waterloo we would like to Thank you for all your hard work and making our job such a pleasure. Both myself and Mrs Jones would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and hope you and your families have a great break. We look forward to hearing all about it when you get back.
Thank you all x
BUILD A CITY DAY!
Let the fun commence. We are about to take part in the Build a City Challenge 2016, where children will work in pairs to create a building out of mainly recycled materials. Good Luck Waterloo!
We have been working really hard on our persuasive texts this week and Today we had some great Learning Logs brought in. in particular I would like to mention Demi Leigh and Aidan who created power points. I have attached the files for everyone to see. Great effort with out of school learning. I would also like to congratulate Siobhan for working so hard on learning her times tables.
